Following the success of last year's event, we are pleased to sponsor the charity dinner this year in aid of Rainbows. Last year's event was immensely popular and we hope to support the charity through another successful event, with the likes of Sally Gunnell OBE and Colin Jackson MBE who will be speaking on the night. Invitation letter
In anticipation of the London Olympic Games 2012 we invite you to join us on Thursday 19 November 2009 for an evening with the Olympic medal winners. The athletes, Sally Gunnell OBE and Colin Jackson MBE will be sharing their experiences as Olympic champions.
The sporting dinner is in aid of Rainbows where Mattioli Woods and Champions (UK) plc are the lead sponsors. Rainbows, a purpose-built children's hospice help the needs of children and young people from the East Midlands who are affected by life-limiting and life-threatening conditions. They offer specialist respite stays, symptom management, and end of life care as well as support for the whole family. Each year they need to raise £2.8m to keep the eight-bedded hospice operational and events like this really make a difference.
Willie Thorne, star of 'Strictly Come Dancing' and current World Senior Snooker Champion, will be hosting the event and running the charity auction of sporting memorabilia, including a signed boxing gloves by Frank Bruno and Sir Henry Cooper OBE and a signed snooker cue by John Parrott MBE. In addition, there will be signed images of various sportsmen such as Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button plus many more exclusive and rare pieces of memorabilia.
During the evening, not only will guests be able to listen to the tales of two of Britain's greatest athletes but also enjoy a superb three course meal. The guests will have the opportunity to have their picture taken with both Sally and Colin along with the prospect of purchasing one-off original pieces of sporting memorabilia.
To provide you with more details about the event, I have enclosed a menu invite which will give you an even greater indication of the calibre and style of the evening. Tables for the evening cost £500 for 10 guests. However, you may prefer to share a table with another group or Mattioli Woods where the charge is £50 per head.
