Self-Invested Personal Pensions - Back to basics during turbulent times
One of the hopes of the Government with the implementation of the A-day rule changes to pensions in 2006, was to simplify pensions and encourage individuals to save for their retirement.
Indeed, one area of the market that has seen considerable growth over the last couple of years (and which will no doubt continue), is self-invested personal pensions (SIPPs).
Whilst this growth has certainly been aided by the SIPP’s flexibility and control over contributions, investments, your retirement strategy and ultimately inheritance of assets, the SIPP market does retain an air of mysticism for the uninitiated.
Our seminar program aims to demystify all areas of the SIPP market, covering the entire lifespan of the scheme, and focussing on the following areas:
- Contributions - limits, tax relief and planning opportunities
- Transfers - types of benefits that can be transferred-in, implications and opportunities
- Investments - permitted investments, flexibility, asset and liability modelling
- Retirement and death benefits - managing your income and protection of fund for the next generation
Along with this ‘back to basics’ approach, the seminar will also concentrate on other key areas within a SIPP, such as annuity versus drawdown, investment management through asset and liability modelling; a key area in the current volatile market, and alternatively secured pensions (ASP) explained.
Accordingly, the seminar will provide understanding and advice for both the uninitiated and also individuals looking to further expand their knowledge with some of the more technical aspects. The presentations will be in a very ‘user friendly’ manner with working examples, and we will be happy to discuss issues of particular importance during the seminar’s ‘question and answer’ session, or afterwards on a one-to-one basis.
