Maximising the value of your business -
Exit strategies in a recession

Recently, Mattioli Woods, Whitley Stimpson & Henmans LLP held a seminar to address a wide range of related issues including preserving shareholder value; positioning the business for a successful exit; what buyers are looking for; whether cash is available for acquisitions; the legal aspects of such exit planning; and how retirement wealth management issues might best be addressed.

Below is a copy of the invitation letter and a link to the invite booklet that provides information on the programme and the speakers. If you would like a copy of the slides, please contact Catherine Billington on 0116 2408700 or via email at catherine.billington@mattioli-woods.com.

Invitation Letter

I am writing to invite you to the above seminar, which is being presented by specialist and complementary advisers including Henmans LLP, the Oxford based law firm specialising in sales and acquisitions; Mattioli Woods plc, an AIM-listed pension consultancy with particular expertise in the use of self-administered and self-invested pension schemes by owner-managers; and ourselves, who specialise in providing corporate finance and tax advice to businesses like your own.

As advisers working together with businesses in the region, we are all having to 'think outside the box' to deal with the current challenges in the market place. In particular, developing an exit strategy in such circumstances needs to be examined.

The current recession has provided challenges for us all where the economy seems a whisper away from imploding, deeply exacerbating the interrelated problems in managing a business and planning for retirement. But this difficult period will pass and the ensuing recovery will create opportunities for well-positioned businesses.

Accordingly, drawing on the expertise of all three firms, this seminar will address a wide range of related issues including preserving shareholder value; positioning the business for a successful exit; what buyers are looking for; whether cash is available for acquisitions; the legal aspects of such exit planning; and how retirement wealth management issues might best be addressed.

Irrespective of the length of the recession, clear strategies need to be developed as early as possible to be ready to grasp the opportunities that lie ahead.

The seminar booklet is enclosed (see link below) and we look forward to seeing you at the event.
