I am a team leader to a team of six where I have the responsibility for all work completed on my section, ensuring it is completed to a high standard and dealing with any technical queries. In addition to the teams work I am responsible for the individual team members’ development. I conduct performance reviews and appraisals and provide support where necessary to ensure the team members achieve their goals.I have a portfolio of my own pension schemes to administer – the workload is varied and interesting. Administrators work closely with our consultants and are encouraged in planning and technical areas. I am currently training one of our graduate trainees where training is done “on the job” and backed by a graduate recruitment programme.
In addition to my team leader and account manager roles I also work on special projects and I am responsible for dealing with our SIPP project. The SIPP project responsibilities include the completion of monthly and annual tax reclaims and returns and responding to SIPP technical queries. In preparation for the legislative changes post A-day I have been involved in the Pension Simplification team to interpret the new legislation and ensure that the new procedures that the team has developed are implemented successfully.
